G'evening, Aya-chan. Can I come in? Haha, wait, soundproofed... [She knocks harder.]

Hello?
Oh--Miss Mahiru. Hi.

[Mahiru shakes her head and takes a step inside.]
I was wondering... if I could help out. You looked like the copying really took a lot outta you... and I got some photos, too, if my memory card can go in your camera.

[ oh wow, definitely lighting up at the suggestion. FELLOW PHOTOGRAPHER fellow junior journalist. ] I wouldn't mind help at all! Ayaya, if the memory card fits, I'd definitely like to take a look at some of your pictures.

I think the readership would probably appreciate something they'd see as a little less mean-spirited. [Huff.] They don't seem to understand how hard this kind of thing is. We should be polite to each other, sure, but at some point we're gonna cast aspersions on one another.

About news, not about my vouchers. They'd definitely dispute that title. [ she hesitates for a moment before inserting the card and waiting for the pics to load. let's see~ ]

Well, that means we just gotta work harder to show them how much this can help. You think you're gonna get more submissions?
no subject
I'd like to hope so. If I could publish one clue that could help us all, it would be worth it.
These are... nice pictures.

[Her smile springs open wide; she doesn't exactly like it when people just tack generic positive adjectives like nice or amazing onto her work, but since Aya's in the field herself she probably at least means it when she says it]

I find it impressive how many pictures of smiles you can capture, even at times like these. [ almost nobody smiles for her pix!!... for good reason. ]

[She leans on a wall for the moment, eyeing the room itself.] Do you have anything written up already that I should start copying yet...? It's okay if you don't, I just don't wanna keep distracting you while there are all those prints to make.

she taps a pen against her chin, then picks up and offers an article. ] I'm still working on the headliner, but perhaps you could start copying this piece? Surprise Engagement Sealed With Honeymoon Teacup Ride. Take a read.
i knew i wanted an ibuki and mabel photo in here somewhere... this is the perfect opportunity thank
[As she lets Aya think that over, Mahiru starts gathering the necessary amount of paper, organizing the blank pieces into tidier stacks.]
ur welcome

[While Aya thinks that over Mahiru dashes off two short paragraphs and fixes her introductory sentence so the two-part article is now rough complete.] How's this look? Any more changes? We could probably print this as teacup photo on one side of the sheet and trial photo on the other side.

They pass by several happy minutes this way working their way until they have about forty copies of these sheets. And then a stack of paper finds its way under the door. Mahiru gets up to retrieve them cautiously and instantly cracks a grin as soon as she reads the first two sentences.]
Tanaka, oh my god. Get a load of this. [Rifling through the stack... wow, it's thick; ten double-sided sheets!!] We might have to publish this as a limited-run extra or something... he really went all out here, look. [She places the first four pages next to Aya.]
no subject
oh wow, that's up. time to skim this hardcore rebuttal. ] ... I have to admire the conviction these two have.
Limited is right. But let's see how far we can get in copying before night falls.

[A bittersweet force tugs at Mahiru's mouth at the opportunity she thought that acceptance letter granted, but she keeps it shut.]
Seriously, though, I'm not sure where the asterisks should go in mammaries.

Hope's Peak? Is that where you're from? [ always got time to snoop into peoples' backstories. ]

You know what I keep worrying about... the room searches. Not being able to give out our stuff, that's really inconvenient.
